Always seen from the train journeys to/from Lausanne & Fribourg which is nice! Very striking castle with visits available but not during the winter. The setting is nice also. Easily accessible via bus from Palézieux or Romont.
A nice little castle. Can be visited at the weekends, afternoon
We got married here in 2012 and have wonderful memories of the castle.

Oron Castle is located in the village of Oron-le-Châtel on the territory of the Vaud commune of Oron.
It is owned by the Association for the Conservation of Oron Castle which oversees the maintenance and renovation of this fabulous site and historic monument. A place of charm and history for your professional meetings, conferences, seminars as well as all kinds of events (wedding, birthday, family celebration, etc.)
Visits are possible on weekends.
An excellent castle in a small town, when entering the castle you can feel the spirit of the Middle Ages, for its price the castle almost justifies itself. You can climb high, but the map they give you at the entrance is a little difficult to figure out. I was very interested in the old library, it was a pity it was closed. The remaining rooms are very well preserved in their original condition, apparently the castle was in good hands. It was noticeable that parts of the castle had not been completed, but it was very noticeable. If you want to feel the spirit of Switzerland in the Middle Ages, I recommend
